Danish metal detector enthusiast finds 550 silver coins, jewelry and other silver objects scattered on a small area in a field at Omø in Denmark. The coins included a number of so-called Harald Bluetooth coins from approximately 975-980AD which have a cross on them. Harald Bluetooth raised a rune stone at the royal seat at Jelling, on which he proclaimed that the Danes where Christians.
There are also silver coins from England, Germany and Poland. Additionally, hack silver pieces of Arabian Dirham coins. The hoard was found in a location where there is no known settlement or town from the Viking Age.
