Viborg Museum excavation blog of Viking Age noble estate

Viborg Museum is leading an extensive multi-year excavation of a Viking Age noble estate, located at Toftum Næs near Viborg in Jutland, Denmark. The site consists of numerous buildings dating from year AD600 to AD1100 and graves which in some cases are estimated to be from the first century AD.

Unfortunately the blog is only being posted in Danish – however, the ton of photos and diagrams from the dig and recover artifacts are well worth checking out in the link below.
